He's the one
He’s the one that gets accused of pushing and shoving
when he just has no sense of awareness
He’s the one they see as a bully
but can’t comprehend what he does wrong
He’s the one that gets told on for being mean
when he just says what he sees
He’s the disruptive child in class
but he can’t sit still to learn
He’s the child isolated at the back of the classroom
when all he needs is support
He’s the one that gets told off for talking
when he just wants to be heard
He’s the one that that will point out the negatives
but craves positive affirmation
He’s the one who’s obsessive
and just wants you to be interested
He’s the one that seeks a friend
but doesn’t know how to treat them
He’s the one that starts a fight
when he just wants to stand up for a friend
He’s the one that everyone wants on their team
because he is a winner
He’s the one that nobody wants on their team
because he can’t play nice
I’m the one who lives in fear of judgement
Who feels like I am failing
Because I am the parent of that child
The child that is mean and hurts other children
The child that other parents talk about
The child that the school can’t handle
The child who doesn’t understand what he has done wrong
The child that longs for acceptance
He’s the one that climbs into my bed at night
because the world is scary
He’s the one that holds my hand when he sees I’m sad
Because he feels my pain
He’s the one that cries if he finds a dead insect
Because his heart is filled with love
He’s the one that comes to us and hugs us and tells us he loves us
Because he wants to be loved
He’s the one whose smile can make your day
Because he isn’t all the bad things they say about him
He’s the one, living in a world of expectations and norms, where nobody but us can understand and accept him
